Process Behind Shipping from Germany To Singapore

Shipping procedures vary from one country to another as there are different rules and regulations imposed by different countries.

When moving items from Germany to Singapore, there are multiple routes and options one can take. This is an example of shipping your goods via sea freight and the steps involved:

  • Step 1: Receive packing materials and fill up necessary forms

We will send you the following items:

    • International custom forms (to be filled up and returned)
    • Shipping labels
    • Packing materials and boxes (if necessary)
  • Step 2: Pack items and send them to the warehouse

Once you have packed your goods, a hired truck will pick up the boxes and bring them to a warehouse for consolidation.

  • Step 3: Consolidate goods and load cargo onto the ship

The goods will be consolidated and loaded onto a ship bound for Singapore. Depending on your needs, the container can either be less than container load (LCL) or full container load (FCL).

  • Step 4: Send report to the Singaporean government

The ship’s captain will submit a report to the Singaporean government a few days before arriving at the port regarding the type of vessel, crew and cargo it is carrying.

  • Step 5: Unload cargo from the ship

After receiving clearance to enter Singapore’s port, the container will be unloaded via large cranes.

  • Step 6: Inspect cargo

At this point, custom officials will inspect selected containers to ensure that the contents adhere to the information on the submitted documents.

  • Step 7: Load cargo onto a truck for distribution

Once the cargo has been cleared, the container will be loaded onto a truck and moved to an import distribution centre.

At the import distribution centre, the cargo will be separated and distributed to their respective destinations.

  • Step 8: Receive your items

Finally, you can prepare to receive your items via a local trucking service.
