Shipping Methods Available

Air freight

Air freight is a faster mode of transportation as compared to sea freight and an aircraft is used to ship your goods to the destination.

Sea freight

Sea freight requires a longer time to transport your goods. However, it is usually more cost-efficient.

When you are choosing to ship items, it’s important to determine the volume of the cargo before paying for the shipping. In international freights, there are two ways to ship your cargo: FCL or LCL.

FCL (Full Container Load)

This shipment mode is best used when shipping a large amount of cargo. And by large, they mean enough to fill an entire cargo container. When you choose to get FCL as your mode of shipment, you will be paying for the entire container so it is best to make full use of it.

LCL (Less than Container Load)

If your shipment is not enough to fill an entire cargo container, you could choose to share the container with other customers. With FCL, you will be paying for the entire load inside the container, while with LCL, you will only be paying for the space your cargo occupies. And this is measured by cubic meter, making this a cheaper option.

How Long Does It Take For Cargo To Arrive In Singapore?

If your cargo is shipped via air freight, the goods should arrive in Singapore within 1 day.

If your goods are shipped via sea freight, the goods will take a longer time to arrive as customs checks are mandatory for all cargo arriving at the port. The custom checks will require a few days before the goods are cleared for shipment.

Benefits of Using a Freight Forwarder

If this is your first time shipping large amounts of cargo from country to country, then you might want to consider availing the services of a freight forwarder. But what is a freight forwarder? A freight forwarder is a firm that handles your shipments for you. They are not a shipping firm, rather think of them more as a travel agency but for cargo.

They will be responsible with finding you the best rates in shipping your item with the best delivery time. They can also help customers with all the legal documents and other types of services including:

  • Air Freight

Need the cargo as soon as possible? Freight forwarders can help find you air freight services that are sure within your budget. Ideal for critical shipments.

  • Sea Freight

Freight forwarders are experts in helping customers transport cargo of all sizes across the ocean.

  • Trucking

Need cargo delivered by land? Freight forwarders can help you find trucking services you can trust.

  • Warehousing

They can also help find warehousing for your cargo until you choose to get your cargo.

  • Cargo Insurance

Offering security, this is your assurance that you are qualified for legal assistance if anything were to happen to your shipment during transport.

As compared to sea freight, air freight is a quicker way to ship your goods if you need them urgently. It is a great option for transporting goods that are small and lightweight.

How much is shipping from China to Singapore?

The sea freight rate determines the cost of shipping your cargo via ship vessels.
